Dedication
I'd like to dedicate this book to my
dear Grandmother, Beth Sanderson. She is
one of the biggest science fiction fans I know.
My Grandmother taught English at a
junior high, and I still remember her trying to get me to read books at a young
age. She is a fun-loving person, always
smiling despite the physical hardships she's gone through lately.
So, this book is for you, Grandma!
Acknowledgments
I'd like to express my gratitude to my
editors. These are some important folks.
They do a great job helping turn the rough drafts of my books into things that
people would actually want to read.
I'd also like to thank the folks in
my writing group. I find a good writing group to be a vital part of the
process. Not only do they give you encouragement, but they provide great
chapter-by-chapter responses to books.
And I don't want to forget David and
Irene. Without the people who do the publicity and the artwork, no book would
ever get taken off the shelves—or even get out of the warehouse. These people
do a great job, and I think they are part of the reason this book is so
wonderful.
