Hollywood Pets

The most famous Hollywood pet is Lassie.  This dog has starred in several movies, and she even had her own television show.

The original Lassie was a collie named Pal, born in 1940.  There have been several long-haired collies since that time that have played the part of Lassie.  All of them have been terrific.

Another famous dog-actor was Rin-Tin-Tin.  In 1918, in the midst of World War I, this German Shepherd was spotted in France huddled in a German trench.  The puppy was taken back to the United States, and he amazed everyone with his cleverness and good nature.  This made Rin-Tin-Tin perfect for the big screen, where he starred in 30 films from 1922 to 1931.
