The Hose
It
was a scorching day. Sweat was pouring
down my face like a waterfall. I was
fighting to catch my breath as I watched the hazy steam rise from the paved
road.
Then
I saw it. It was just across the
yard. I shielded my eyes from the bright
the sun that was trying its best to blind me.
My body wanted to rest, but I kept on walking. Only a few more steps!
Finally,
I reached the garden hose. I turned the
nozzle until the water poured out. The
hot water came out first, and I waited for what seemed like 1,000 years for it
to cool. And then it was ready.
I
held the hose above my head, and the water coated my face. Time stood still.
What
a beautiful day.
