The Rainy Day

Stanley was moving quickly down the street.  He was closer to skipping than he was to walking.  He whistled to himself, and from time to time would sing:

See the sun shine and hear the birds sing,

What wonderful things this day will bring

It’s a joy to be outside today,

A chance to sing and to dance and to play

That’s when the thunder came.  The sky was an angry lion with a tooth ache.  It grew dark.  Rain started to fall.  Then it fell some more.

Stanley looked up as the rain fell down.  He sang again:

See the rain fall and hear the thunder roar,

On days like this, I could not ask for more

It’s a joy to be outside today,

A chance to sing and to dance and to play
