Where am I?
Okay,
where am I? That tree looks familiar—but
so do all of the other trees. Maybe I’m
walking around in circles. Or maybe I’m
just not good at remembering trees.
Wait
a second. What’s that? Is that running water? Is there a stream nearby? The sound is getting louder. It’s definitely a stream. More like a river, actually.
There
it is! Water! Wow, it feels great as I splash it on my
face. I remember there was a river that
ran beside the trail. Maybe this is the
one. I’ll just walk along beside it and
see where it takes me.
My
feet are killing me. I must have walked
half way to the moon and back by now.
Hold
on… I hear something. Voices? Are there people talking ahead? A bunch of people. Follow those voices. Yes!
It’s great to see friendly faces again.
And there’s my car… right where I left it.
How
long has it been? My watch says that two
hours have passed. Hmmm. Maybe it wasn’t as bad as I thought.
